Les Bouchons Revisited @ Ann Siang Hill

Les Bouchons is one of those places I would return without qualms, at least the past experiences have been more than pleasant. I tend to be on the safe side and make reservations, which is absolutely necessary as the restaurant was filled so quickly for the night.

works of art

Something about the paintings and dim lighting that makes this slightly creepy.

dim interior

More of the dim.

menu

Their menu hardly changes one bit - outlook and content.

cutlery

Service I never liked particularly, for Les Bouchons. Either you have waitresses who are so green or waiters who bothered more about the next table than yours.

bread

Complimetary bread that seemed to get from bad to worse. So rock hard, heaps of jaw work required. Loved the french butter though.

salad

Still as sour their salad was, I did not particularly fancy the proportion of whites to green veggies here.

condiments

Take as much as you fancy to enjoy steak with!

rib eye

Sirloin and Tenderloin were the two most popular item ordered for the night. Well charred slabs of meat with a pile of to-die-for fries.

chomptime

Both cuts of steak were popular for the night. I had mine medium and loved it. Succulent cut for sirloin, loved the porportion of fats to meat which gave it a juicier bite. In contrast, tenderloin was a tad dry inspite of its doneness executed to such perfection. I can trust Les Bouchon for perfectly grilled steaks.

Still a huge fan of their double cooked crispy fries. Salad was once again a tragic story.

creme brulee grand marnier

Creme Brulee with Grand Marnier

The additional shot of alcohol made all the difference to this french dessert. Somewhat creamier with that slight acidic punch, loved it!

Les Bouchons once again has satisated the steak craving - at least more consistent than L'Entrecote. Will be back for more comfort food...until then, it has sealed its position in my list!
