Loof has reopened with a nostalgic twist – mama shop included! While ventilation is not hugely better than the last concept, it is highly dependent on the weather for an enjoyable time. For the whole time I was there, it was too hot for comfort.
Indeed, there's always room at the top.
I wonder how the hotel guests take to the noise.
A pretty cool ledge seat...to watch traffic 5 storeys above.
If drinks do not entice, how about some knick knacks from the Mama shop?
Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt 12 Years ($15)
An obscure one that pleased the whiskey lover.
The Gummiberry ($17)
Gin, cointreau, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, meringue
Jammy, would be apt to describe this cocktail that
comes with a torched meringue top. Reminded me of Banoffee drink at Wild
Honey. The blend of raspberry, strawberry and blueberry was pretty
viscous and could pass off as a runnier version
of the fruit preserve. Delicious drink with a mild hint of alcohol and I
found it a tad too sweet.
No plastic pink hues in sight, this rose petal
dusted cocktail was all that there is. A calamansi infused cocktail.
Bandung bloom, where?
Fries in a gardening can with a trio of sauces
which barely matched up to the description. These fries were pretty much
like potato wedges, marinated before frying and ended up with the
distinct aftertaste of oversalted bar food.
Dips were not extraordinary.
If anything it was the heat that discounted the experience. Would love to head back to try their spicy saucy edamame, fried mantou and lamb rack lollies!
