In all my visits to Malaysia, Nasi Lemak seems to strangely rank low in my preferred foods to eat. This time, we decided to hunt down the nasi lemak stall under a cherry tree, as if finding food stalls under a big tree was not ambiguous enough.
It is almost hard to miss this Nasi Lemak stall because it is the only one under the tree next to a housing estate, we even joked that maybe the owner owned a row of houses there.

Nasi Lemak
Fluffy and fragrant coconut rice served with a dollop of belachan. Just the rice itself tasted so good, even before dabbling with the belachan or any of the dishes.
Fried Chicken
We had the pleasure of selecting our preferred chicken parts from a basket of freshly fried chicken, I have no idea how the Malays do this but their fried chicken is all of juicy, finger licking good and even better than fast food.
Laksa Johor
This caught me by surprise, laksa only available in Johor Bahru was actually assam laksa base with noodles that were a cross between laksa noodles and pasta. Interesting and really tasty!
Lontong
This lontong was hardly spicy nor lemak, in fact very light and the rice cakes were so smooth! I felt I had been duped by satay sellers all my life with stiff and dense ketupats. Plus, that yummy satay sauce drizzled on top made this sedap nia.
RM 27 for all that we ate, I can only say - why don't we have the equivalent back home? Definitely worth a visit and dining under a cherry tree felt so kampung like.
