~Invited Session~
Lin, short for “Shu-Lin” which means 'forest' in mandarin is a contemporary Asian alfresco rooftop bar and specialises in authentic Asian-infused cocktails, premium whiskeys, international shooters and specially selected beers paired alongside with Asian bar snacks and main courses.
Located on the 5th floor of Link Hotel, this bar overlooks Tiong Bahru and definitely brought back memories of my bar hopping days - Loof at some point got brownie points for overlooking Cityhall without costing an arm and a leg!
The Tipsy Pig ($18)
Bourbon, Benedictine DOM, Bacon Strip
For the thirsty and hungry, here's a cocktail that feeds and quenches. The incorporation of bacon and edamame beans is a lovely savoury touch to the other intense cocktail.
Empress Har Cheong Wings ($11.80)
Homemade Prawn Paste Batter, Home made chilli
Zichar gone pub grub, these har cheong wings packed an addictive crunch and came with an equally delicious homemade chilli paste. Delicious right to the bone.
Wu Xiang Pop ($9.80)
Popcorn Chicken, Five Spice Powder, Homemade Chilli
These were uncannily similar to the wings, except they were morsel sized. Similar chilli paste, so perhaps ordering both at the same time is not the best combination.
Juicy Beef Burger ($18.80)
Homemade Beef Patty, Cheddar Cheese, Streaky Bacon Strips, Gherkins
Tuck into a hearty burger that comes with the full works and more - think coleslaw and fries. Portions are generous and great for sharing especially if drinks is top of the agenda more than food.
Babe ($17.80)
Marinated Pork Belly, Sauteed Shitake Mushrooms, Mixed Herb, Red Wine Jam, Garlic Vegetables
Unlike the usual siobak, the sauce reminded me of char siew at some point. Not complaining for sure, loved the crackle and succulence of meat - they could go easier on the oil used on the dish in general.
Pleasant vibe at Lin's, heat can be an issue so choose your attire and table properly and food can be on the salty side but I suppose that is pub grub seasoning so as to pair well with drinks. Bottoms up to a happy night out!
